Rabbi Balser received his M.A. in Jewish Studies in 1975 and his rabbinical ordination in 1978 from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Rabbi Balser is an experienced pulpit Rabbi, having successfully led congregations in Kansas City, Missouri; Morristown, New Jersey; Winnipeg, Canada; and Chicago, Illinois before coming to Temple Beth Shalom in the summer of 2007. Rabbi Balser is married to Ari and they have two children. Ezra, who is following in his father’s footsteps, is a rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College in Boston. Their daughter, Elisheva, has a culinary degree from Miami Dade College. Rabbi Balser is a native New Yorker, having grown up in Queens.



Cantor Goldenholz was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up surrounded by Jewish music. He began his musical education at age five studying classical piano. At the early age of 19, Sagee began his career as a Cantor and soon after was appointed to his first pulpit in South Florida. He has performed with the Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Opera, and in various concerts and recitals throughout Florida and abroad. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, and he and his wife, Shira, have three children.
